Goals and strategies directly address two clearly identified gaps in our current service system: an ability to help link a family to resources, and the need for more comprehensive and developmentally appropriate mental health services for the birth to five population.
The design constitutes four broad areas:
- Increase the quality and expand mental health services to the infant and early childhood population in the PACT for Families counties. Children's Therapeutic Services and Supports (CTSS) services are provided through Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota and Woodland Centers.
- Early recognition and screening with emphasis on reaching parents, child care providers and other early childhood staff and professionals who come into contact with our youngest children.
- Linking families with appropriate resources: Early Childhood Resource Consultants (ECRC) help bridge the gap between a child being indentified and the family connecting with the appropriate provider.
- Offer culturally and linguistically accessible services: All of these services are offered in a manner that meets people where they are in terms of both needs and values.
