Birth to Five
The Birth to Five Mental Health project was a two-year grant through the Minnesota Department of Human Services, June 2009 through June 2011. The goals, objectives and strategies for this project resulted from discussions with mental health providers, early childhood professionals, public health, Head Start, and the medical community in our four-county service area. The grant helped to expand available mental health services for children from birth to five years of age. Those mental health services continue to be available through local mental health providers and two agencies (Lutheran Social Services and Western Mental Health Center) are current grantees through the Minnesota Department of Human Services for continued services to the birth to five population.
