RAPAD
Renville Alliance for the Prevention of Alcohol and Drugs

VISION STATEMENT
It is the vision of the RAPAD to positively influence attitudes, beliefs, and knowledge in Renville County about alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention and to create a high quality of life free from the impact of substance abuse.

MISSION STATEMENT
The RAPAD mission is to transform Renville County into responsible communities concerning alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention.

As a coalition, we are dedicated to:
*Identifying alcohol, tobacco and other drug (ATOD) problems within Renville County.
*Publicizing efforts being made to meet ATOD problems within Renville County.
*Supporting schools, businesses, and other organizations in the County by providing technical assistance and resouces for ATOD prevention.
*Cooperating with local efforts to educate and influence attitudes for positive changes on ATOD use.
*Work in collaboration with local, state, and federal government to enhance the quality of life through ATOD prevention stratagies.

ESTABLISHMENT
The RAPAD was established in August of 2006 through a grant from the Chemical Health Division of the Minnesota Department of Human Services and PACT for Families Collaborative.

YOUTH GROUPS
The RAPAD youth groups, as branches of the coalition, are formed in the different school districts around the County.  To create awareness in alcohol and drug prevention for their peers, these RAPAD youth groups sponsor activities like alcohol free dances, grim reaper days, sticker shock projects, and drug and alcohol education afternoons, just to name a few.
